In the first step, we collect your data tapes and other data carriers from your location.

In the second step, your data is continuously secured at our site in Boxtel, with 24-hour camera surveillance and alarm security.

In the third step, we register all your data tapes based on any serial numbers or asset tags.

The fourth step is the actual destruction: your data tapes are shredded with our DIN66399-certified shredder.

In the fifth and final step, you receive a GDPR-compliant destruction statement, supplemented with the serial numbers of all destroyed data carriers.

Corporate social responsibility

A sustainable approach is central to Holland Recycling. Not only the processing itself is important here, but especially the way we do it. Because the refurbishment process for IT hardware lends itself particularly well to employing people with a distance to the labour market, we have a wonderfully mixed team. As a member of CSR initiative AANtWERK, we work daily towards inclusive business practices. Want to know more about our social approach? Check out our page about sustainability and CSR.

Having tapes destroyed with Holland Recycling

Do you, as a business or institution, have backup tapes or old CDs, DVDs, floppy disks, USB sticks, video tapes or cassette tapes? If you use these, you own the data. That automatically makes you responsible for destroying this data once these tapes become surplus.

We still regularly see tapes simply thrown out with general waste, with all the possible consequences that entails. These digital storage media can still be full of confidential data, even when you think the data has already been fully removed. Want to throw away old video tapes, for example? Choose certainty and have your tapes collected by us. Holland Recycling can help you with the disposal and destruction of these data carriers.

Your data tapes can be easily disposed of

Holland Recycling transports your data carriers securely to our guarded data destruction depot. This depot is only accessible to the staff responsible for registering and shredding the data carriers. Our staff are screened and bound by confidentiality. At the destruction depot, the data carriers are registered and destroyed using a DIN66399-certified shredder.

Do the tapes have a serial number or asset tag? Then we can also handle the registration. In addition to your data tapes, we can also destroy your other data carriers such as hard drives, USB sticks and phones. After destruction, you receive a destruction statement from us. This destruction statement is GDPR-proof.

What our clients say:

What happens to shredded tapes?

Unfortunately, recycling is not possible when destroying tapes and floppy disks. After these storage media are physically destroyed, the output is incinerated to generate energy in waste incineration plants. This way, this processing still has a useful application.

Other data carriers, such as hard drives, USB sticks and phones, do contain valuable raw materials. Holland Recycling further processes the shredded fraction of these into secondary raw materials. This way, valuable materials are preserved and we contribute to the circular economy.

Declaration of destruction for your tapes

After the destruction of your data tapes, you receive a destruction statement from Holland Recycling. If your tapes have a serial number or asset tag, we include this in the registration. This way, you have conclusive proof for your internal records and external audits.

Should you ever face an inspection due to GDPR or an audit for one of your certifications, you can use this to demonstrate that your data carriers were processed safely by a fully certified company. Our documentation is suitable for any audit or inspection.
