Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a term increasingly used in the business world. But what shows that a company operates in a socially responsible way? Holland Recycling BV takes its responsibility in this area. We support various charities, are a member of CSR initiative AANtWERK, keep many people with a distance to the labour market in employment, and try to work exclusively with partners who uphold the same values and standards as Holland Recycling BV.
AANtWERK is an employers’ platform committed to social responsibility and inclusive business practices. It launched on 22 April 2013 with a founders meeting. AANtWERK is an initiative of IBN, Weener XL, WSD and 21 employers, and arose from a strong need to inspire and inform each other and others about inclusive business practices. Its goal is to promote CSR in the Eindhoven, Tilburg and Den Bosch region. The platform aims to eventually grow to more than 200 partners. The organisations united in the foundation want to offer extra support to people who need additional help to find a place in the labour market.
One of the important aspects of corporate social responsibility is the way companies treat their staff and people within and outside their work and living environment. Employing people who have fewer opportunities in the regular labour market plays an important role in this. Governments are accelerating this development by setting requirements in tenders regarding the employment of people with a distance to the labour market. Beyond this development, there is growing awareness that CSR has positive effects on an organisation’s results. Holland Recycling BV employs people every day who need additional support to find a place in the labour market.
Besides ISO 9001, Holland Recycling BV is also ISO 14001 certified. This means we work every day to reduce our company’s environmental impact. We are constantly looking for ways to, for example, save energy. What we consider just as important is keeping up with the latest developments in techniques that generate the highest possible recycling rate. This way, we try to recover as many valuable and increasingly scarce raw materials as possible from electronic products. We hope to ensure that enough of these raw materials remain available for our children and grandchildren in the future.
