Holland Recycling introduces new shredder sorting line

With over 13 years of experience, Holland Recycling is at the forefront of processing old electrical and electronic equipment, with special attention to high-grade electronics such as IT hardware and components. Previously, these devices were manually disassembled and sorted. The printed circuit boards released in the process were sorted by hand by quality and freed of attachments such as aluminium and iron. The circuit boards were then sent to various smelters to recover valuable metals.

Growing stream of electronic waste

The number of discarded electronic devices keeps growing. In addition, Holland Recycling is buying an increasing number of circuit boards from abroad. This places considerable pressure on our facilities. That’s why we decided to modernise and improve our processing methods. After extensive research, including visits to other companies both in the Netherlands and abroad, we opted for a new shredder sorting line. This machine can process not only circuit boards but also complete devices such as switches and computers.

Advantages of the new shredder sorting line

A major advantage of the shredder is that all the “contaminants” present on circuit boards, such as iron and aluminium, no longer need to be removed by hand. The shredder automatically separates the aluminium and iron. The type of shredder is also designed so that no precious metals are lost during the shredding process. In addition, the quality of the smelting fraction is consistently homogeneous, reducing the risk of poor analysis results. Holland Recycling can now also produce a quality that can be used directly in the smelting process without further treatment. This saves us the costs that the smelter would normally charge for reducing the size of the material.

WEEELABEX / CENELEC certified

We’re proud to announce that our new shredder sorting line was certified on 7 March according to the WEEELABEX/CENELEC standards. This certification underscores our commitment to the highest standards in electronics recycling. It demonstrates our dedication to sustainability and shows responsibility in everything we do.
